IACT Ethical Standards

Integrative Mind Training | Global Clinical Excellence

At Integrative Mind Training, we recognize that the "Gold Standard" of our profession is built upon a foundation of ethical integrity and professional conduct. Every graduate of our program is required to meet the elite global requirements of the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT).

The Preamal of Integrity

The IACT Code of Ethics provides a common set of values upon which our members build their professional, educational, and scientific work. Our primary goal is the welfare and protection of the individuals and groups with whom our practitioners work. We aspire to the highest possible standards of conduct and the protection of human and civil rights.

Core Clinical Standards

Our practitioners are trained to operate within a strict framework of professional responsibility:

  • Clinical Competence: Members maintain the highest standards, providing only those services and using only those techniques for which they are qualified by education, training, and experience.

  • Scientific Integrity: Members rely on scientifically or professionally derived knowledge when making professional judgments.

  • Informed Consent: Practitioners discuss the nature of services, fees, and confidentiality policies as early as possible, ensuring language is clear and understandable for every client.

  • Strict Confidentiality: Client privacy is observed at all times, consistent with the laws of the land. All client notes, records, and electronic recordings are kept secure and confidential.

  • Professional Boundaries: Members will never use their position of trust to exploit a client emotionally, sexually, or financially.

The 3-Hour Ethics Intensive

To ensure these standards are not just read but mastered, every IMT student must complete a dedicated 3-hour Professional Ethics Intensive module. This course covers:

  • Legal requirements and state-specific regulations.

  • Proper use of disclosure and informed consent forms.

  • Professional advertising protocols that ensure truthful and clear communication.

Scope of Practice

We emphasize that hypnotherapy is a clinical modality that is complementary to, not a substitute for, conventional medical or psychiatric care. Our practitioners are trained to work independently and in a collaborative manner with physicians and other healthcare professionals to serve the client's best interest.
